Snow Zorbing in Sweden

January 2012 - Spring is soon to come but folks in Sweden can still enjoy the pleasures of winter sports. Well, and here is the newest addition to skiing and snowboarding - snow zorbing! If you are quick you could still have a go in the snow in Are, Sweden. But then - drive the cold winter away!

berlin ILLUMINATED show at Friedrichstadt Palast Berlin

November 2011 - The famous Friedrichstadt Palast with its 2854 square meters of performing space is the largest stage in the world and its 24 metres wide proscenium arch is the widest in Europe.
This year the full magic of Christmas unfolds at Friedrichstadt-Palast with the heart-warming Christmas show "berlin ILLUMINATED".
For this show a resistant and visually perfect zorbing ball was required. Needless to say that for the stage design and décor only the highest standard of quality is accepted by the Technical Management. After comparing thoroughly, they decided that only Downhill Revolution products fulfill their strict quality criteria. While everybody at Friedrichstadt Palast is happy with the success of the show we are just happy to be a (small but still) part of this success.

Sys Bjerre at Samsø Festival

August 2011 - The Samsø Festival is often called the cosiest music festival in Denmark. This year the famous Danish singer and TV star Sys Bjerre performed parts of her show in our FUN model which was supplied by our Danish partner Steen Brorsen from Samsø Downhill. As you can see on the pictures in the gallery section, Sys really enjoyed being in the FUN. Thanks indeed, Steen, for sending us these great pictures!

SpinFizz at the Balaton Sound festival

July 2011 - Those who did not get a chance to go for a SpinFizz ride at the VOLT festival will have another chance at the Heineken Balaton Sound festival starting 7 July. Portishead, David Guetta, Underworld, Snoop Dogg - only to name a few of the top acts that can be heard at the beautiful shore of Lake Balaton. SpinFizz at VOLT festival in Sopron, Hungary

June 2011 - One of Central Europe´s outstanding music festivals is the VOLT festival in Hungary. This year´s line-up included bands like 30 Seconds To Mars, Primus, My Chemical Romance, House Of Pain and many others.
Soproni, Hungary´s classic drink company, used the SpinFizz to promote their Radler Beer promotion - and almost 1000 people had the chance to cool from the hot music. Pictures and clips can be seen on our Spinfizz facebook page.

Ramp Zorbing at Wisconsin Dells

June 2011 - Our US partner, Mr Jason Martinez, just launched his new ramp zorbing operation at Wisconsin Dells, number 2 of the Top Ten Destinatins for Family Fun in the US. We wish you all the best, Jay!

Rugby star rides the Big Ball of West Wales

May 2011 - Cardiff Blues number 8, Xavier Rush went for the ride and roll deal when he visited the Downhill Revolution site in West Wales. 17 stone former All Black Rush could be heard laughing all the way down the run and when he got out at the bottom he said that it was an “awesome bit of fun” and that he “is looking forward to trying the longer run” which will be opened later this year. And he is even more keen to get his girlfriend in the Downhill Master and launch her down the run!

Downhill Revolution summer season starts

May 2011 - Those of our partners who were not busy with snow zorbing during the winter season have now opened for the summer operation. Quite a few of them have ordered new Downhill Masters which, by the way, have now new and more comfortable harness pads.

We also would like to welcome a few new site operation partners on board, their details can be found on the location page. But a very special welcome goes to Carl Göran Söder from Sweden who we know for many years. Carl Göran is a very experienced zorbing site operator since 2004 and we are happy to work with him. All the best for the summer 2011!

HTC-Promotion in Paris

November 2010 - Remember the video game classic Breakout? London based agency Flourish Creative adapted it and designed a very cool eye-catching event in Paris for HTC. Hundreds of people created two human brick walls and a person inside a Downhill Master was pushed from one side to the other until he eventually managed to break through one of the walls. What an exercise!

TÜV approval for Downhill Revolution products

October 2010 - Downhill Revolution products are fullfilling the strict safety requirements of TÜV Süd. FC Bayern München supporter´s day

August 2010 - Germany´s top team FC Bayern Munich invited the fans to a day of entertainment. Like in football, Bayern Munich only accepts highest quality and therefore decided to go for Downhill Revolution products. 4 FUN zorbing balls were supplied for an impressing choreography in Bayern Munich´s Allianz Arena.

Downhill Samsø - Samsø, Denmark

June 2010 - Downhill Revolution welcomes another new member on board: Samsø locals Steen and Britta Brorsen just opened Denmark´s first Zorbing site - Downhill Samsø. During his site visit Downhill Revolution co-owner Attila Csató was not only impressed by the very nice zorbing site but also by the beauty of the island. Music and Poetry

May 2010 - Raimund Hautmann and his band Winslow acted as openers for bands like Manfred Mann´s Earthband, Little Feat and others and when he presented his new solo project Music and Poetry to us and asked whether we would like to create the visual part we immediately gave our consent to join. Raimund and multi-instrumentalist Gottfried Rimmele created an evening of mystic dreams at one of the most romantic places in Franconia, Germany, the Steinerne Brücke which was built by King Louis of Bavaria as a copy of the famous Rialto bridge of Venice.

effata! Youth Church Münster, Germany - The Ten Commandments

September 2009 - Groups of young people were invited to interactively look into the subject of the Ten Commandments during the two week event exhibition of effata! Youth Church Münster, Germany. A FUN model symbolised the Red Sea during the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt.
Teambuilding was also intensively practised throughout this two weeks.

September 2009 - Mr John Bennett, owner of one of the most successful Zorbing sites in the world has joined Downhill Revolution. Having over 8 years experience in the business John knows literally everything about Zorbing. With all his expertise John checked our products more than thoroughly and the quality of the Downhill Master fully convinced him. Needless to say, his judgement especially makes us happy (and admittedly a bit proud, too).

Gary Lineker goes Zorbing

July 2009 - Gary Lineker may be used to kicking balls, but rolling down a hill inside one was certainly a new experience for the former England footballer.

Zorbing at the Downhill Revolution site in Magherafelt was one of the activities the Match of the Day presenter and his fiancee, Danielle Bux, tried out on their adventures around Northern Ireland for the new BBC series of Northern Exposure. UK visitors can watch the clip on the BBC website.

Das große Kipp-Roll-Fall-Spektakel

June 2009 - German TV channel ProSieben shows the biggest chain reaction of all times. With a length of 33 kilometers and a duration of 120 minutes it is also supposed to become the longest one in the world. It will start on Saturday, 6th June 2009 at 8.15 pm - and German Fencing Olympic Gold Medalist Britta Heidemann will be part of this in a Zorbing ball supplied by Downhill Revolution.

Schlag-den-Raab

May 2009 - A spectacular Zorbing race was set up for German blockbuster show "Schlag den Raab". 2 FUN models were supplied by Downhill Revolution as "only the highest quality standards are acceptable for the show" says Mr Mike Seel, property manager of Brainpool GmbH.
Almost 4 million people - 55% of the TV audience - watched Mister Raab competing with 26 year old candidate Nino in 15 games. The prize was the highest in world-wide TV history: 3 million Euro to win for the candidate. Nino lost the Zorbing race - but won the competition in the very last round. Congratulations! Well, if Nino wants to improve his Zorbing skills he could just as well buy a couple now.

Hasseröder half-time promotion - Hannover 96

April 2009 - Two customized and branded Downhill Masters were manufactured for Hasseröder´s Giant Bowling competition, launched at Hannover football stadium. The Hannover 96 website says "this was one of the most exciting half-time events of all times." Grab your chance and apply for the next match when the "Reds" play against the league leader VfL Wolfsburg! Pictures in the gallery.

April 2009 - Nolan and Gerry Anderson go Zorbing - rolling down a hill in a Downhill Master at the jungle site in Northern Ireland - and both of them are worse for wear at the end of it!

"Zürs Magic" - Snow Zorbing Show, Lech am Arlberg, Austria

February 2009 - Famous ski resort Lech/Zürs in Austria was the place where Marc Vogel´s Un Poco Loco artists performed their spectacular Zorbing fire show for the first time in the snow. Quite a challenge for the artists - and the audience gave a standing ovation after an exciting performance. Pictures of the show in the gallery.

Robinson Club Fuerteventura

December 2008 - If you are not for cruising the sea (see below) we recommend to visit the famous and exclusive Robinson Club Jandia Playa on the windsurfer´s paradise island of Fuerteventura. A new FUN model was supplied to introduce zorbing to the club guests. Please do not use it for windsurfing! (Unless you choose a life of a living message in a bottle.)

AIDA Cruises

October 2008 - AIDA Cruises, Germany’s number one on the sea travel market has purchased two FUN models for their fantastic theatre show that is performed exclusively on board of their ships. Now that the days are getting cold - at least on this part of the earth - this is a good chance to escape the rain, relax in the Mediterranean and with a drink in your hand watch the artists perform their stunning Zorbing show.

New Downhill Revolution site opens in Surrey, UK

April 2008 - our first UK site was opened on 5th April in Whyteleafe, Surrey. UK Downhill Revolution representatives, Justin and Darren Toohig, employed a golf course designer from Scotland to create the site most beautiful. And for those who always wanted to touch the famous grass at Manchester United football grounds at Old Trafford - the same was used for the downhill slope. The balls rolling around in Surrey are slightly bigger than the ones Wayne Rooney usually kicks, though.

Orb360 UK joins Downhill Revolution

April 2008 - Brighton based company Orb360 decided to use Downhill Revolution products only after having tried Zorbing products from not less than six different suppliers at their Zorbing venue set atop Devil´s Dyke. Orb360 owner Paul Butler says: "You can certainly use me as a case study. I have travelled a hard road with these cheap balls but I am glad now to work with Downhill Revolution. I just could not believe that there are such big differences in quality - but I had to learn there are."

Red Bull Salzburg - Zorbing Race Competitions

February 2008 - In the light of the upcoming EURO 2008 Downhill Revolution enters the football grounds of Austria and Switzerland. Red Bull Salzburg purchased two FUN models for halftime entertainment on their home matches. Well, in that respect not really a downhill revolution, is it? At any case, participants at the Red Bull Salzburg halftime races make it a fast revolution. It looks like they´ve got wings...

ECHO 2008 - German Music Award

February 2008 - The big winner of the ECHO 2008, double awarded DJ Oetzi, flew in onto the stage of the ICC Berlin in one of our FUN Zorbing balls. Andraz Cerar joins Downhill Revolution - December 2007

Former Zorb Master Franchisor for Slovenia, Mr Andraz Cerar, now joined Downhill Revolution as representative for Slovenia and Serbia. Mr Cerar tested the Downhill Master thoroughly and said he is impressed by the great performance and the robustness under any weather condition.

But apart from that, he says the clear and transparent Downhill Revolution business concept is fully convincing. "I know, other companies hide costs in their pricing structure in a variety of ways. Such hidden costs you should watch out for and take into consideration when comparing costs."

Rupert Pichler of Flachau, Austria, ex-Zorb franchisee, owner and operator of the first Zorbing site in Europe since 1998, now joined Downhill Revolution. MTV France - Orangina promotion clip - September 2007

Accompanied by a team from MTV France, the winner of this year´s Orangina Prize draw came all the way from Paris to experience the Advanced Way Of Zorbing in a beautiful scenery next to the historic Castle Waischenfeld in Germany. Fully equipped with Orangina drinks, Raphael went on his journey in a Downhill Spin Master. Well, the drinks didn´t give him wings - but isn´t it a much more exciting way of travelling?
